Welcome Back Nassau County Camera Club – 2025-26 Season

August 22, 2025

To All of our NCCC members,

The other board members and I all hope you had a great summer and enjoyed good weather, good health, time with family and friends and lots of opportunities to take photos. We look forward to seeing you when the new season starts with our first meeting on September 10, 2025. This year we will be using a new and more flexible program for running our monthly competitions. We will continue our image critique sessions that were well received by the overall membership last year and we also plan to continue our relationship with PFLI and with other clubs on Long Island to share programming and useful information.

The schedule will be similar to last year with your competition photos due by the first Wednesday of the month, and our Zoom-based competitions on the second Wednesday of each month. In-person meetings, presentations and shooting events on the third and fourth Wednesday of each month.

We will continue our in-person meetings at the Levittown Public Library located at 1 Bluegrass Lane, Levittown, New York. We meet in the downstairs conference rooms.

The first competition will be held in October this year. While we normally hold our first competition on the second Wednesday in September, this year we will use that day, September 17, for an online Zoom meeting to welcome everyone back and to demonstrate the new Photo Competition software. We will show you how you will be able to submit your images for club competitions.

While Dave Curtin has been our Digital Chairperson and coordinator of all our competitions for several years, Dave is finally passing the baton to Alan Borko. The first competition, using the new Photo Contest Pro program, is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2025. This means that your initial images for the first competition will be due to Alan Borko by Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The first club in-person meeting at the library will be on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. You will receive notifications for this and future meetings as we get closer.

As in past years, to be eligible to participate in our competitions, your membership dues must be paid in full by October 1, 2025, the first image due date. You will be able to submit make-up images if you miss the October deadline, or if you miss any other competitions during the year.

Club dues remain at $60.00 for the club year and can be sent by check made out to the Nassau County Camera Club. Please mail your check to the club treasurer, Helen Albano, or in person at one of our scheduled in-person meetings.

Last year’s club success was in part because of membership participation in our programming. If you have expertise in a particular area and would like share it in a presentation to our club at an in-person meeting, please feel free to reach out to Bill Brown, our president, and let him know what you’re considering. Let’s all stay involved. We would love to get more members involved in all aspects of the club, such as serving as a committee chairperson or assistant, making presentations, facilitating workshops, and helping out in any other way you wish. This is our club so let’s all help out and participate to make it a better club and a better year.

Please keep me informed of any changes in your address, email or telephone numbers so I can keep our roster up to date.

Looking forward to seeing all of you very soon. Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Stu Schneider, Membership Chairperson
